The hematology scientific poster demonstrates the student's competency in whole blood specimen analysis. Each student presentation distinguishes between laboratory results indicating disease and those indicating a Quality Assurance issue. All posters are HIPAA compliant and presented to peers in a professional presentation.
The MLT Program Student Learning Outcomes met by this project include:
1. Accurately perform manual and automated procedures in Hematology, Clinical Biochemistry, Immunology, Serology, Clinical Microbiology, Urinalysis, Body Fluids, and Blood Banking
2. Demonstrate competency in safely collecting, processing, and analyzing specimens and results
3. Analyze specimens and procedures for Quality Assessment factors that affect patient results and perform actions to make corrections
5. Demonstrate professional and ethical conduct including confidentiality and interpersonal communication skills
